My mother gave birth to ten healthy babies, so I always assumed that I would have healthy children someday. However, that did not come to be.

After my husband, Wayne, and I had been married for fifteen years and continually prayed for our future family, God revealed His perfect plans to us - plans that were far greater than we could ask or imagine. We went through the process of private adoption, and we were blessed to bring our daughter Amelia home at three days of age. What a miracle God had worked!

We had so much to learn along the way about raising a family, and all we knew to do was turn to God. There were times when mistakes were made and we needed to reboot. We never lacked for love, and God never lacked in grace. There is nothing better than being a mother and raising your child to know Jesus, and motherhood definitely kept me on my knees in constant prayer for my child. And it has been such a blessing to see those prayers answered!

In recent years we have seen a shift in our relationship. As Wayne and I have both experienced health issues, Amelia has stepped up to become our caretaker - you could even say she has had a taste of motherhood! I am so thankful for all the ways God has used her and for His faithfulness in every season!
