Love Your Neighbor

Love Your Neighbor

Impact by Serving

"Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.'" Matthew 22:37-39

Love Your Neighbor is just what it sounds like, an initiative focused on impacting the lives of other people with the love of Jesus by serving them.

This fall, there are two opportunities to come together with your campus to love your neighbors by serving them! Check out the opportunities below to get involved and make an impact in your community!

Christmas Store

Community | December 6

For many families in our area, making sure that their kids have a memorable Christmas can be a financial burden. As a way to serve these families, through relationships with local schools, each Venture Church Campus will invite selected families in-need to shop at the Christmas Store for their child - for free! While gifts are being wrapped, parents will be encouraged and prayed for, leaving with Christmas gifts in tow and a few burdens left behind.

In October, we’ll be collecting the items that will stock these Christmas Stores. Click below to view the shopping list or pick up a shopping list on your campus.

We'll also need volunteers to serve on the day of the Christmas Store to make this unique experience possible. Volunteer sign-up will open in November!

Christmas Store List

Christmas Store FAQ:

The Christmas Store allows campuses to work with local schools to connect to families who may struggle financially to give their kids a memorable Christmas. Those parents are invited to "shop" at The Christmas Store for select items for their child from several categories – everything from coats and clothing essentials to toys and books.

While at the store, campuses will talk with these parents, encourage them, and pray for them while their gifts are being wrapped by our teams! Each family leaves with a few Christmas gifts in tow and a few burdens left behind.

The Christmas Store will be hosted by all five campuses on December 6; times will vary.

The Christmas Store will be hosted at all five campuses.

Campuses will work with local schools to determine which families could benefit most from this opportunity. Those families will receive an invitation from us to “shop” at the Christmas Stores on that campus.

Only the families who have been invited by each campus will be permitted to shop at The Christmas Store. This is to ensure that each family invited has a smooth experience and leaves feeling encouraged and loved.

Donate: Each campus will collect items to stock the Christmas Stores in October. View the shopping list below with all the information you need to pick out supplies for The Christmas Store.

Serve: Sign up to volunteer at the Christmas Store on December 6.

There are all kinds of roles to fill – You can help us set up and prepare the campuses for the store. You can greet families as they arrive or help serve refreshments. You can help us with childcare for any kids who come along with mom or dad. You can serve as a personal shopper and engage with parents as they move around the store. If you love wrapping gifts, we need you on our wrapping team! Or you can serve on the prayer team and be part of loving on and encouraging these families during this difficult time of year.

Christmas store volunteer sign-up opens in November.
