ABOUT PROJECT GENESIS
Project Genesis is a unique weekend of adventure and Bible study for upcoming 7th grade students to welcome them into the Venture Student Ministry. Project Genesis 2018 will be August 2-3, 2018 at Waukaway Springs Christian Retreat Center in Vossburg, MS.

This event is open to all incoming 7th grade students at all campuses of Venture Church. For more information, please read the FAQ below.
Pricing for Project Genesis:
Cost for students: $35
Cost for leaders: $25
Registration will open on Sunday, May 26.
Students may request financial assistance to help offset the cost of the trip.
Donations may be made to help students with the cost of the trip. Simply log in to your Secure Give account and select Youth/Students, then write "Project Genesis" on the comment section.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Who can attend Project Genesis?
Any student who will be entering 7th grade in the 2019-2020 school year.
2. When is Project Genesis?
Project Genesis 2019 will happen Friday, August 2 - Saturday, August 3.
3. Will there be adult supervision?
We will have all types of adult supervision. At Project Genesis, the students will be divided into small groups by gender. Each group will have 1-2 upcoming high school juniors or seniors that will serve as big brothers/big sisters, as well as adult leaders. These group leaders will keep track of their group throughout the entire trip. We will also have additional adult leadership to help supervise Project Genesis. Additionally, Waukaway Springs has staff that oversees camp activities such as water sports.
4. Where is Project Genesis taking place?
Project Genesis will take place at Waukaway Springs Christian Retreat Center in Vossburg, MS. This is a private retreat center.
5. How will the group be traveling to Project Genesis?
We will be traveling together via bus with professional drivers. Our top priority is the safety of the students.
6. What all does the registration cost cover?
The registration cost includes transportation, housing, activities and all meals.
7. How much spending money will my student need?
Your student could come to Project Genesis with $0 and be perfectly fine. Everything is provided.
8. How are rooming assignments determined?
Rooming assignments are determined through the information that is collected through registration. We will room students according to gender, school and team placement. Our goal is to make sure each student is in a room with someone they know. Please let us know if your student is inviting a friend that does not attend Venture Church so we can place them together.
9. Can my student bring a friend who does not attend Venture Church?
Yes! This is highly encouraged. Our desire is to be a church for the unchurched. We see Project Genesis as an incredible opportunity to get a student introduced to Venture Students who isn't involved at a church.
10. What do students need to bring to Project Genesis?
Medications (& medication forms packet)
Re-usable water bottle
Swimwear (girls: 1-piece, tankini or t-shirt over your 2-piece)
Shower towel • Beach/pool towel
Pillow, bed linens (twin) and/or sleeping bag
11. When do students depart and return from Project Genesis?
A tentative schedule will be available later this summer.
