BY FAITH, WE GO.
"By an act of faith, Abraham said yes to God’s call to travel to an unknown place that would become his home. When he left he had no idea where he was going. By an act of faith ... Abraham did it by keeping his eye on an unseen city with real, eternal foundations—the City designed and built by God." (Hebrews 11:8, 10)
God has given Venture Church a vision to go and reach 10,000 people in the next ten years. Talk about a faith-stretching exercise! Much like Abraham, Venture's journey of faith has required following in obedience before knowing where we are going.
“Great gifts mean great responsibilities; greater gifts, greater responsibilities!” (Luke 12:48)
In the fall of 2016, we introduced “Venture Out,” a resource initiative created to launch a campus in Stone County and on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Through that initiative, 627 people became partners in this journey of faith by making a monthly commitment for a three-year period, and God has been faithful!
The Stone County Campus launched in a cheer facility on Easter Sunday of 2017 with 350 people; cut the ribbon on its new facility (converted from an empty bowling alley) on October 29, 2017 with almost 400 people and during Easter at Venture 2018, hosted 817 people! Since the Easter 2017 launch, thirty-two people have been reclaimed by God and have chosen to live a life defined by knowing, loving and following Jesus.
But, that’s just the beginning of this incredible God-led movement that we are experiencing as a church. On April 8, 2018, 171 people joined us at the CDC Event Centre in Gulfport, MS for our very first Gulf Coast Vision Night. From that night, Growth Groups are preparing to launch and Camp Venture will happen in two locations in Gulfport this summer.
For those who have partnered with us this far, THANK YOU. Thank you for your willingness to go in faith to unknown places to reach 10,000 lives - one person at a time. Thank you for giving generously to ignite this movement. God is using your obedience to sacrificially love the world He gave His life for by reclaiming the lifeless and repurposing them for His glory.
If you were not around in the fall of 2016 to participate in Venture Out or just weren’t able to make a commitment at that time, we are asking that you and your family prayerfully consider partnering with us through Venture Out 2.0. Through Venture Out 2.0, we will make investments in our existing campuses that better equip us to fulfill God’s calling on our church - to be a welcoming place where the unchurched can belong before they believe. Your participation would mean a one-time gift on May 20, 2018 (Commitment Sunday) and a once-per-month gift - above and beyond your tithe - to Venture Out 2.0 over the next 19 months. No matter how big or small, God wants to write every person who calls Venture Church their church into this story.
In obedience, we follow. By faith, we go.
HOW MUCH WAS PLEDGED TO VENTURE OUT 1.0?
Venture Out 1.0 was designed to provide the resources to launch two new campuses, to update existing campuses and to expand local missions. $2.9 million of the original goal of $5 million was pledged to Venture Out 1.0.
HOW IS THE $2.9 MILLION FROM VENTURE OUT 1.0 BEING USED?
$1.2 million of the $2.9 million pledged to Venture Out 1.0 was used to launch The Stone County Campus. The remaining $1.7 million will be used to launch our future Gulf Coast Campus.
Venture Out 1.0 is an ongoing resource initiative. Those who made a monthly commitment to Venture Out 1.0 will complete their giving in October 2019.
WHAT IS THE GOAL OF VENTURE OUT 2.0?
The financial goal of Venture Out 2.0 is $2 million. This will offset the shortfall of Venture Out 1.0, allowing us to make basic upgrades at all existing campuses. After months of thought, discussion and prayer, church leadership believes these upgrades are important as we continue growing and reaching new people across ALL of our campuses.
Many of the upgrades are planned for The Lincoln Road Campus which was actually launched 10 years ago, prior to our name change and the development of our existing brand. What that means is that our broadcast campus (and largest campus) is the least consistent in look and feel with Venture’s new identity.
WHAT WILL VENTURE OUT 2.0 ACCOMPLISH?
THE LINCOLN ROAD CAMPUS
Updates at The Lincoln Road Campus will include paint, carpet, additional restrooms, a built-in coffee bar, a first-time guest area, a portable baptistry, interior signage, parking lot lighting and additional KXP check-in stations.
THE HUNT CLUB CAMPUS
Updates at The Hunt Club Campus will include paint, a first-time guest area and interior signage.
THE STONE COUNTY CAMPUS
Updates at The Stone County Campus will include expanding the Stone County Campus parking lot.
Updates for Church Online will include camera upgrades and improved streaming.
God has given Venture Church a vision to go and reach 10,000 people in the next ten years. We don't take that vision lightly - 10,000 is not just a number to us. Each number is a person, a family, a community waiting to experience the incredible life change that Christ brings when we're unafraid to share what it means to know, love and follow Him.
