Mission Trip is designed specifically for rising 9th grade students - students who have completed 12th grade in the 2023-2024 school year. Any students who have graduated early and are under the age of 18 will attend Mission Trip classified as a high school senior.
Mission Trip 2024 will take place in Arlington, Texas at Mission Arlington, a long-standing Christian organization in the heart of Texas. Mission Trip is taking place Saturday, June 1 - Friday, June 7, 2024.
All students and leaders will be transported to Arlington by charter bus. We will also use the charter buses while in Arlington.
The price for Mission Trip is $450, which includes transportation via charter bus, lodging at a hotel, evening activities (including Six Flags and a Rangers game), dinner for two nights, breakfast/lunch each day, and two Venture Students t-shirts to easily identify our group when in public. A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required at the time of registration, with the remaining balance of $400 due at the final training on May 30th.
Each morning on Mission Trip, our group will eat breakfast together at the hotel, then split into pre-assigned teams and go to different apartment complexes throughout the Arlington, Texas area to host kids camps. During these kids camps, we have the opportunity to teach kids Bible stories, lead them in games, songs, and share the love of Jesus with them!

Then, our entire group will eat lunch together and travel back to the Mission Arlington headquarters to participate in a variety of service projects. After those projects are completed, we’ll spend the evenings of Mission Trip doing some intentional team building! We’ll eat dinner together, debrief and share stories from the day, and hear an encouraging message from a Venture Students team member.

On a couple of evenings during Mission Trip, we have some extra-special activities for students that have been built into the overall cost.
Yes! Because Mission Trip is so different from any other Venture Students event, training is of upmost importance for all students to be well-equipped for the work that will take place on Mission Trip. Training is mandatory for anyone wanting to attend. If you know that your student will be unable to join us for the required trainings, we ask that they contact their Campus Student Pastor for more information. The dates of Mission Trip Trainings are as follows:

Thursday, May 16 @ 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, May 19 @ 6:00 p.m.
Thursday, May 23 @ 6:00 p.m.
Thursday, May 30 @ 6:00 p.m. (dinner will be provided)

For the first three trainings, all Hattiesburg Area (Lincoln Road, Hunt Club, and Jones County) students will meet at The Lincoln Road Campus. All Gulf Coast and Stone County students will meet at The Stone County Campus. For the final May 30 training, students from ALL campuses will meet together at The Lincoln Road Campus.
Team assignments will be made by our staff once registration has closed. One of our goals for mission trip is to have students build new friendships from across all of our campuses, so each team will include a diverse mix of ages and campuses.

Please note that your student may not know many people on their team prior to this trip, but we assure you that this is intentional and beneficial for all of our students. If you have a specific concern, please contact us. Students will find out who their team leaders and members are during the last Mission Trip Training.
Our team will be staying at The Comfort Inn & Suites at Arlington, Texas. Leaders will be placed strategically throughout rooms to ensure the safety of all of our students.
Room assignments will be made by our team prior to the trip. Please denote at least one person your student would like to room with on their registration. We’ll do our best to honor every request. Students will find out rooming assignments upon arrival to our hotel.

After May 15, we will only be able to offer a refund of $100.

For the safety of all of our students, prescription medications of any kind will be collected and stored in a secure location, not in student hotel rooms. Prescription medications will be available morning, lunch and dinner/night times. If a medication needs to be taken at an alternate time, that medication will be provided to the student in the morning.
We will have registered nurses and medical personnel on-site throughout the duration of the trip to distribute prescription medications. All prescription medications must be labeled with full name, dosage amount and schedule, and be turned in to staff and/or medical personnel. We also ask that you specify what medications your child must take, as well as any other pertinent medical concerns at the time of registration. First Aid Kits will be available throughout the trip to provide students with non-prescription medication for any needs that might arise.
