Cornerstone Counseling is coming to Hattiesburg!

Founded in 2012, Cornerstone Counseling has grown to serve communities across Mississippi with locations in Flowood, Jackson, Oxford, and Tupelo. With a team of qualified, compassionate counselors, Cornerstone is experienced in helping individuals, couples, and families walk through the healing process.

Jesus reminds us, “In this life, you will have trouble…” (John 16:33). Cornerstone's counselors are equipped to work with people from all backgrounds and belief systems in navigating troubling and difficult times. While faith serves as the foundational framework guiding the Cornerstone Counseling approach, clients are met with respect, care, and professionalism. The goal is to help individuals experience balanced, healthy lives - spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

What is Cornerstone Counseling and why are we partnering with them?

Cornerstone Counseling is a professional counseling practice founded in 2012 with a desire to create a place where every person feels cared for, safe, and important. Their mission is to help individuals, couples, and families pursue healing and restoration emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. Venture Church is partnering with Cornerstone to provide accessible, professional, faith-aware counseling services in our community.

Where is the Hattiesburg location of Cornerstone Counseling?

Cornerstone Counseling in Hattiesburg is located at Venture Church, The Hunt Club Campus, at 1900 N. 31st Avenue, Hattiesburg, MS 39401.

What is Cornerstone’s approach to counseling?

Cornerstone believes faith plays an important role in emotional health and healing. Cornerstone's counselors are guided by Christian beliefs. While respecting clients from all backgrounds, they do not impose their beliefs, but instead walk alongside clients toward balanced and healthy lives emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

What types of counseling services are offered?

Cornerstone offers individual counseling, couples and marriage counseling, family counseling, trauma and grief care, child and adolescent counseling, and support for life transitions. Services are available in person and via telehealth.

Who can receive counseling at this location?

Counseling services are available to adults, couples, children, and families. Clients do not need to be members of Venture Church to receive care. The counseling center is open to the broader community.

Who are the counselors?

Cornerstone’s team includes licensed professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, and trained biblical counselors with experience in trauma care, relationships, children and adolescents, and faith-integrated counseling.

Is counseling confidential?

Yes. Counseling sessions are confidential and follow professional and legal confidentiality standard. Venture Church does not receive information about counseling clients.

How do individuals schedule an appointment?

Clients schedule counseling directly through Cornerstone Counseling using their intake and appointment process. Venture Church does not schedule or manage appointments.

Will insurance be accepted?

Cornerstone works with many insurance providers when possible. Coverage varies by plan, and clients are encouraged to verify benefits with their insurance provider prior to scheduling.

What are the fees for counseling services?

Counseling services are provided by Cornerstone Counseling and billed directly to the client, not through Venture Church. Fees vary depending on the counselor, session type, and length of appointment. Self-pay options are available, and clients should contact Cornerstone directly for current rates and payment details. Venture Church Partners are provided a discount for services, please contact us for information on this process.

Why is Venture Church passionate about this partnership?

While there are many excellent providers in our area, the need and demand on the mental healthcare profession is overwhelming. This partnership allows Venture Church to offer trusted referrals for professional counseling, support holistic care for individuals and families, and extend care beyond pastoral counseling while keeping clinical care independent.
