Week One | Day 2

Read: “Each time he said, ‘My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.’ So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

God loves to use the ones who aren’t enough. As much as we may try, no matter how hard we strive to perform or please, our limitations can leave us feeling like a failure. But instead of seeing our weaknesses as something negative, take a moment today to discover the gift of your need for God!

Our human limitations don’t define us - God defines us. When we can stop striving and rest in the truth that where we lack “enough,” there is room for God to be more than enough, then we can live our journey of faith in freedom. But freedom isn’t the only gift we experience - crushing created imitations of our Creator opens us up to experience His supernatural power at work in and through us to accomplish an eternal purpose!

What imitation gods are leading you down a road to disappointment? Is it a job, a relationship - is it pride? What do you need to let go of to make room for God? Today, thank God that in your weakness, He is made greater.

Pray: God, I now know what I’m holding on to, what I’m trying to find my identity in that isn’t You. Allow me to understand that it will never be enough, that I will not be enough without You. Allow me to let go of my pride, and to understand that it is in my weakness that You shine. Use me to do incredible things. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
