Matthew 28:16-20 NIV

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Acts 2:37-38 NIV

Tomb – Buried with Christ; we have given up our own lives

Womb – Born again; raised to walk in newness of life

Baptism is a way we identify with other followers of Christ.

5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Baptism is an expression of faith:

  • Tickle - Laugh
  • Scared - Scream
  • Love - Lose your mind
  • Faith - Be Baptized

III. Grow

21 When you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Acts 1:8 NIV

8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
