ABOUT TURNING POINT WEEKEND

Turning Point Weekend is Venture Students’ annual fall retreat designed for students to reach a powerful turning point in their faith and walk with Christ. Students from every Venture Church campus will come together to build relationships, play games and, most importantly, passionately worship Jesus Christ.

Pricing for Turning Point Weekend:

  • Cost for Students and Leaders is $65

All payments and paperwork must be submitted by Sunday, November 5.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE


Donations may be made to help students with the cost of the trip. Simply log in to your Secure Give account and select Youth/Students, then write "Turning Point" on the comment section.


FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Who can attend Turning Point Weekend?

Turning Point Weekend is for students in 7-12th grade.

2. When is Turning Point Weekend?

Friday, November 10 - Sunday, November 12

3. Will there be adult supervision?

We will have all types of adult supervision. At Turning Point Weekend, the students will be divided into small groups of around ten. Each group will have 1-2 college-aged/adult leaders. These group leaders will keep track of their group throughout the entire trip. We will also have additional adult leadership to help supervise Turning Point Weekend.

4. Where is Turning Point Weekend taking place?

For over a decade, Turning Point Weekend was housed at King's Arrow Ranch in Lumberton, MS. But due to God's abundant blessing, we have outgrown that location! Turning Point 2017 will take place at Camp Shelby, located several miles south of Hattiesburg, MS off of Highway 49.

5. How will the group be traveling to Turning Point Weekend?

We will be traveling via bus. Our top priority is the safety of the students.

6. What all does the registration cost cover?

The registration cost includes transportation, housing, activities and all meals.

7. How much spending money will my student need?

Your student could come to Turning Point Weekend with $0 and be perfectly fine. Everything is provided. 

8. How are rooming assignments determined?

Rooming assignments are determined through the information that is collected through registration. We will room students according to grade, gender and school. Our goal is to make sure each student is in a room with someone they know. Please let us know if your student is inviting a friend that does not attend Venture Church so we can place them together.

9. Can my student bring a friend who does not attend Venture Church?

Yes! This is highly encouraged. Our desire is to be a church for the unchurched. We see Turning Point Weekend as an incredible opportunity to get a student involved who isn't involved at a church.

11. What is the Turning Point Weekend schedule?

Check in for Turning Point Weekend will begin Friday, November 10 at 5:00 p.m. Lincoln Road and Hunt Club students will check in at The Lincoln Road Campus, and Stone County students will check in at The Stone County Campus. Students and leaders will check in and have a short orientation session. From there, students and leaders will travel to Camp Shelby. Students will return Sunday morning for breakfast and the 9:30 worship experience.
