Begin with two minutes of stillness and silence before God.
Let’s be real for a second, Mondays can make it DIFFICULT to live righteously! I said it, so you don’t have to! You’re welcome! As we read through Proverbs 11, the words “righteous” and “righteousness” are mentioned multiple times. We have numerous examples of choices that align us with righteousness and ones that align us with foolishness and sin.
But what does it mean to align ourselves with righteousness? Well, to put it plainly, it means to submit to the will of God and what He says is wise and good. It looks like coming to terms with the fact that we don’t know it all and maybe, just maybe, we still have some things to learn from the God of the universe. When we live a life in FULL pursuit of the Lord and righteousness, we receive His blessing and protection!
“Protection from what?”, you might ask. Our own destruction! When we rely on our own wisdom and reject God’s Word, prayer, and the correction of fellow disciples, our path of destruction gets bigger and bigger. I can think of plenty of times my pride and self-righteousness (not true righteousness) landed me in spots that I quickly regretted.
The good news is that we can choose a different path! One that leads to a life of wisdom, joy, integrity, and blessings! A life that leads to the heart of God!
Take two minutes to reflect in silence.
