Fearless

Fearless

Begin with two minutes of stillness and silence before God.

Do you fear death? Death comes to everyone, and for many, it’s the number one fear they have. Have you noticed the stance the disciples take on death after Jesus’ resurrection? They had no fear of death whatsoever. In fact, they were excited for the opportunity to live and die for Christ! Paul even said in Philippians 1:21, “For me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” He understood that a life lived for Christ ends with a perfect eternity in His presence. There is no better life. In Acts 25:10-11, Paul says, “To the Jews I have done no wrong, as you yourself know very well. If then I am a wrongdoer and have committed anything for which I deserve to die, I do not seek to escape death.”

Paul had no fear of death. He pursued God’s plan for his life regardless of what people said or did. He had complete confidence in Jesus Christ and that He would protect him. If Paul did die, he knew it was for the worthiest cause this life can bring. Do you have that confidence regardless of what evil threats this life brings? All Christ's followers must believe this simple, but incredibly important verse from Jesus. John 14:6 states, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Faith gives us as Christ's followers the utmost confidence to live a life for Him no matter what we encounter. Jesus is the only way! Do you know Jesus as your personal savior? If not, I’m asking you to learn and decide simply who is Jesus? Read about Him, ask questions about Him, and speak to Him. I know that you will find Him. His love for us is beyond anything we can understand. God had a plan for us to spend eternity with Him. But we don’t deserve it. We have all failed and sinned. Every single person who ever lived failed. So, God sent His Son, Jesus, to die for us and take away our sins. All we must do is believe in Jesus AND follow Him. Jesus and Him alone is why the disciples, Paul, and many others can live without fear of death. We know that one day no matter what, “Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord.”

Take two minutes to reflect in silence.
Reflection:
  • Everyone who ever walked the earth is searching for something. Do you know someone searching for peace in their life in all the wrong places?
  • Pray that God would lead you to someone in your life to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
