Leading Well

Begin with two minutes of stillness and silence before God.

Proverbs 29 highlights the importance of righteous leadership—not just for kings or politicians, but for all Christ-followers. When we follow Jesus, we say with Paul, “Follow my example, as I follow Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1).

Take a moment: Who watches you? Whose life do you influence?

Verse 18 warns, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” This “vision” means divine revelation from God's Word, His Spirit, and wise counsel. When leaders reject this vision, consequences follow—personally and communally.

In our homes, churches, and communities, we must anchor our vision in Christ. We can’t lead others toward Jesus if we aren’t walking closely with Him ourselves.

Verse 25 connects leadership to trust:

“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.”

Wise leaders care more about God’s approval than public opinion. Trust in God gives us courage to obey—even when it's difficult.

Is your vision shaped by God’s Word? Do your decisions reflect trust in Him or fear of others?

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your Word and Your Son. Shape my heart and mind through Your truth. Give me courage to lead with integrity and trust You fully. Amen.

Take two minutes to reflect in silence.
Reflection:

Use the S.O.A.P. Method to study God’s Word.

  • SCRIPTURE: What stands out to you in today’s passage?
  • OBSERVATION: What is this text saying? What is the context? How does it fit with the verses before and after it? Are there any commands, instructions, or promises?
  • APPLICATION: How can you apply this verse to your life? What does this mean today? What is God saying to you?
  • PRAYER: Respond to the passage in prayer. Ask God to help you apply this truth to your life and spend some time listening to what He may be telling you.
