Begin with two minutes of stillness and silence before God.
Ahhh, the wife. Man’s lifelong friend and confidant. Without her, how could any man remember where he left his truck keys? Without her, how could any man remember their kid’s birthdate at the doctor’s office? Without her, how could any man even remember there was a doctor’s appointment? Without her, how would any man know what to do at a stoplight?
I have been blessed beyond measure with the one I married—the perfect mother to our four children, the glue that holds our family together, the voice of an angel. Yes, the one and only Brittany Tucker.
I married up in every way imaginable. Outkicked my coverage, if you will. I’ve been rocking free haircuts since 2014. Between her and our four children, she’s responsible for 20% of the few gray hairs I have—but she’s also the reason the other 80% still have color. I’ll spare you the funny stories behind those grays, but I am beyond thankful for every bit of the "for better or for worse" in our lives.
Proverbs 18:22 says, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.”
Proverbs 12:4 says, “An excellent wife is the crown of her husband.”
I’m sure that crown is occasionally used as a hiding place for the grays caused by that “good thing.” But still, she is God’s nurturing love incarnate. She is patient and kind. She is a crucial part of the team and, when used for God’s glory and obedient to His Word, proves the truth of the saying: “Two heads are better than one.”
What a blessing that God would give man the perfect balance to the equation. A good wife is a good thing—and she should be the crown of her husband, worn proudly, knowing he has obtained favor from the Lord.
(Brittany better read this devo.)
Reflect on the role your wife plays in your life. How can you lead her well?
Tell her how thankful you are for her—and treat her like the crown she is.
Listen to The Isley Brothers’ “That Lady.” (Just kidding... Read Proverbs 31:10-31.)
Take two minutes to reflect in silence.

- PRAYER: Respond to the passage in prayer. Ask God to help you apply this truth to your life and spend some time listening to what He may be telling you.
Prayer:
God, we give thanks for the woman You have placed in our lives. Thank You for bestowing her with the strengths we, as husbands, are often deficient in. Help us to lead her to the cross and welcome her loving kindness. We love You. Amen.
