Head

Take a moment and list some of the most famous people you know - athletes, singers, movie stars, etc. Did you know that the Bible has its own Hall of Fame? The people listed in it aren’t famous for sports or movies, but for something far greater - FAITH! Hebrews 11 is often referred to as the “Faith Hall of Fame,” and it reminds us of the people in the Bible who chose to trust God even when it was hard. Take a moment to read today’s passages and see if you recognize any names that are mentioned.

From Noah to Moses, each of these people chose to believe in God’s promises, even when they couldn’t see them right away. As we read today’s chapters, we’re reminded that life can be hard, but through Christ, we can find the strength to continue to run the race that He has for us!

Heart

Having faith is sometimes easier said than done. It means trusting in God, even when we don’t fully understand what he is doing or see the answers clearly. Can you think of a time you or someone you know has had to put faith into practice? Even when it’s scary or uncertain, we know that God is always with us, cheering us on, and helping us when it’s hard. Each day, we can trust in God more and live out a “Hall of Fame” faith!

Hands

One way to put faith into practice is to simply talk to God about the things we are facing. Have each person in your family pick one thing that is causing worry or fear this week. Whether it’s a hard test, a conflict with a friend, an uncertain medical issue, or an upcoming ballgame, spend time praying over each of these circumstances, asking God to help you trust in Him!

Prayer: Dear God, Help me keep running the race well, even when I am tired or afraid. Remind me to have faith in you and help me find hope in your promises. Amen.
