Read:

Open your Bible and read Zechariah 9:9 together. Then, talk through the questions and pray. If you haven’t done your daily Family Advent Calendar challenge, this is a great time to complete it together!

Questions:

1. What is this prophecy from the Old Testament referring to? (This verse prophesied or revealed something that would happen in the future, Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. )
   
2. According to this prophecy, how will the coming king arrive? (He will be riding on a donkey showing a peaceful and humble king. Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem before He died on the cross and rose from the grave!)
   
3. Zechariah 9:9 says, “Rejoice!” Tell your family what makes you rejoice (shout for joy)!
   

Prayer:

Dear God, thank You for Your Word and all the promises and prophecies it contains. Help us to read and treasure it. In Jesus name, Amen.

Advent Challenge:

Pray for the joy of Jesus to fill our hearts so that we can share HIS joy with others.
