If you’ve been reading along with us all week, you’ve probably noticed that one of the key themes in the book of Mark is serving others. In Mark Chapter 10, we continue that theme and learn that James and John asked to be leaders in Jesus’ Kingdom. Jesus reminded them that leadership in God’s Kingdom requires us to first love and serve others; it’s not about position and power. He told them that even He came to earth to serve others, not to be served! Can you imagine? The King of Kings – the One who created the earth, came here to serve the very people He created!
How do you serve the people around you? Do you help your parents around the house or serve classmates by helping them when they are struggling? How can you serve the people around you this week?
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I thank You for teaching me how to live. Thank You for reminding me that You love me and that I need to have faith in You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
