Read Revelation 22
HEAD
Happy Thanksgiving! What a blessing that today’s scripture landed on Thanksgiving Day! Let me tell you what we can be thankful for…In Revelation 22, John continues to describe the new heaven and the new earth. He sees “the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb” and “the tree of life.” Now let’s go back to the beginning...like the VERY beginning. Genesis 2:8 and 9 says, “And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden…The tree of life was in the midst of the garden.” Verse 10 says, “A river flowed out of Eden to water the garden.” It was perfect, exactly as God wanted it. But then Adam and Eve were created, ate the forbidden fruit, and sin entered the world. People had to choose to live a life following, serving, and loving our Lord, or a life separate from Him. After thousands of years, reading through story after story in the Bible, we get to read in Revelation about how God wins and again creates a perfect place for His people. The Lord will be our light, and He asks us to come and live an eternity with Him.
HEART
Oh, I pray that you will come to Jesus. That you will choose to live your life loving Him. That you will praise Him for the blessings you receive, run to Him for direction, and seek Him when life is hard. The best place to be in this life and for eternity is in the presence of our Lord.
HANDS
We have so much to be thankful for. Today, I want you to think about the blessings God has given you on this earth. Now focus on the blessings He has offered you for eternity…a perfect life in His presence if you choose to love and follow Him.
Let’s give thanks. Fill in the blanks of this prayer with what you are thankful for today.
