Read Psalm 66:16-20

“But God has surely listened and has heard my prayer.” Psalm 66:19

Head:

Have you ever had exciting news that you couldn’t wait to share? Maybe you scored the highest on the test or won the big tournament and talked about it to everyone you saw for the next month!

That’s exactly what is happening in Psalm 66:16-20. The writer of these verses is so excited to share with others how God answered his prayers. Verse 19 says, “But God has surely listened and has heard my prayer.” In other words, when he cried out to God, God not only heard him, but he cared about him, too. Just like he cares for you! 

Heart:

These verses also remind me that God leaves no room for sin in our hearts, verse 18 says, “If I had cherished sin in my heart, The Lord would not have listened...”

This sounds harsh, but the reality is that God loves when we talk to Him and loves when we confess our sins to him. Sins, like lying or being unkind, just get in the way, so just like the author of these verses, share your sins with God, ask Him for forgiveness, and see what He can do in and through you! 

Hands:

If there is something that is weighing on your heart, confess that to God now. He is listening and is ready to forgive you.

If there is a prayer that God has answered for you, share it with somebody you know today! God loves it when we share His good news with others! 

Prayer:

Dear God, thank You for always listening when I pray. Help me to be honest with you when I fall short and seek Your forgiveness. Thank You for all the good things You’ve done in my life. Help me to be brave and confident to share your good works and good news with others.
