“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things.”
Galatians 5:22-23 (ISV)
Head
Did you know that God wants your life to grow good things, kind of like a fruit tree? When we believe in Jesus and follow Him, His Spirit lives in us and helps us grow something called the Fruit of the Spirit. These are things like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Just like a tree doesn’t grow fruit overnight, these fruits take time to grow in us. We don’t always feel joyful or patient, and sometimes it’s hard to be kind. But when we ask God for help and choose to do what’s right, His Spirit helps us grow more and more like Jesus.
Heart
Each fruit of the Spirit is like a superpower that helps you live in a way that honors God. Love helps you care for others, even when they’re not being nice. Joy helps you stay thankful and cheerful, even when things don’t go your way. Peace helps you stay calm and trust God when you’re worried or upset. Self-control helps you stop and think before you speak or act, so you can make good choices... even when it’s hard. God gave us these special gifts through the Holy Spirit so we can shine His light wherever we go!
Hands
You don’t have to grow these fruits all on your own. God is the one who grows them in your heart! Think of your heart like a garden, and God is the one who makes good things grow. When you spend time with Him by reading your Bible, praying, and learning about Jesus, it’s like giving your heart sunshine and water. As you follow Jesus, you’ll start to see things like kindness, patience, and love show up more and more in your life. Even when you make mistakes, God still loves you and helps you try again. The more you trust Him, the more your life will show His love to others.
Prayer
Dear God, thank You for the Fruit of the Spirit. Please help me grow love, joy, peace, and all the other good things You want for my life. Help me stay close to You and grow to be more like Jesus every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
