Head: Know God’s Word | Heart: Love God | Hands: Follow God’s Way
Read Hebrews 13
Head
Today’s chapter gives us lots of great practical advice about how to live as God’s people. It reminds us to love others, welcome people, and remember the people who are in need. It also challenges us to trust God instead of worrying about what we don’t have. As we’ve learned all week in Hebrews, Jesus is always with us, and we can trust him with our lives!
It reminds us that Jesus is our Shepherd - He guides us, protects us, and leads us to what is good. Finally, it teaches us that when we live in love, obey God, and trust Him, we live a life that is pleasing to God!
Heart
Think about the people you interact with each day - classmates, teammates, siblings, parents, friends, strangers. Hebrews 13 challenges us to care for others, even when it’s not easy, and this is one step we can begin to take to live a life that points others back to Jesus! Even when it might be uncomfortable or difficult to step out in faith and care for others, we can trust that God is guiding us and helping us!
Hands
We can live out Hebrews 13 each day by simply putting God’s Word into action! We can show kindness, practice gratitude, trust God, and honor God with the way we treat others. What are some ways that you can put the practical advice from this chapter into action this week? From inviting the kid in your class to play at recess, to praying for someone, or simply spending time daily in God’s Word, we can make our lives a living sacrifice to our awesome God!
Prayer: Dear God, thank You for giving me Your Word to guide me and help me live for You. Help me to have wisdom and show love to others this week. Guide my actions and help them honor You. I love You. Amen!
