Head
God calls us His children! That is the most special name we could ever have! John, one of Jesus' closest friends, wrote this letter to help people know what it means to be a real Christian. Over the course of this week, we will look at what it means to be a real Christian.
Heart
We don't follow Jesus to earn His love; we follow Him because He already loves us! God didn't wait for us to be perfect. He sent Jesus to save us while we were still sinners.
Hands
Let's live like God's kids this week! Here are three simple things your family can try:
- Tell the truth to God: If you do something wrong, don't hide it. Talk to God and ask for His forgiveness.
- Do something loving: Help someone in your family, say something kind, or share with a friend who needs it.
- Shine your light: Think of one way you can show God's light this week.
Prayer: Dear God, thank You for loving us and calling us Your children. As we keep reading Your Word, help us learn what it means to really follow You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
