Head: Know God’s Word | Heart: Love God | Hands: Follow God’s Way
Read Psalms 77 and 78
Head
These chapters were written by Asaph, a musician in King David’s court. He begins by recalling how faithful God is when we call out to Him. He reminds us of how God led Moses and the Israelites through the wilderness. He then reminds them of the history of the Old Testament up until this time. He reminds them of how God always returns to care for His people.
Heart
Do you ever forget about the past and how much God has done for us? Take time to talk about the history in the Old Testament and how God held his people accountable, but He was always there for them. Think about a time when you chose not to follow God’s Word. Did you have a consequence? God is still there for you!
Hands
Who can you share this history with? Can you find a way to use this to help someone make better choices today? How about using your own story and testimony to help someone else come to know, love, and follow Jesus? As a family, discuss how you can use what you learned in the past to help someone today and in the future.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding us how You have always been here for Your people. Thank You for choosing us to be Yours now. Help us to always choose You and to make choices that honor You. Amen.
