Read Romans 16

Head

As this letter to the Romans ends, Paul sends greetings from those who are serving the Lord and building the church. He asks those he is writing to greet them and to provide them with help in any way that they can. He includes a warning to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in the way that are contrary to the teaching that these believers have learned. They should recognize that these people are not serving our Lord, but their own appetites. He calls them to be wise about what is evil. Paul ends by asking for the grace of our Lord Jesus be with those he is addressing.

Heart

Paul ends his letter to the Romans by sharing greetings from many who are serving to build up the church of our living God. You can see his heart for sharing to encourage others in their faith. He takes this opportunity to recognize the efforts of many others. Paul is generous in his praise. We should be generous in our praise, also. We are so blessed to be able to praise our Heavenly Father and to say how much we love Him. We can also express our gratitude to those who work to build up our church to bring more to salvation and a personal relationship with Jesus.

Hands

Can you think of people you want to thank for being leaders in your church? How do you want to thank them? Are there ways you can serve your church? Be sure to think of people that you might not normally recognize, like those who keep the buildings clean and the grounds. Those are important things when you are inviting new people into the church! Sometimes a kind word is the very best encouragement!

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for allowing us to learn about how the church was established. Thank You to Paul and all the others who served with him. Help us to always look for opportunities to point others to you through our actions. Amen.
