Read Romans 7

Head

In today’s reading, Paul talks about how God's laws help us understand what is right and wrong. It's similar to rules at school or home—they show us what we should and should not do. Paul explains that even though the rules are good, we still sometimes struggle. He says it's like there’s a battle inside of us. We want to do the right thing, but sin tries to pull us the other way. However, we must understand that these rules are to protect us, not to punish. Paul reminds us that we don’t have to fight this battle alone. Jesus is the one who can help us choose what is good and forgive us when we mess up.

Heart

Have you ever wanted to do the right thing but ended up doing the wrong thing anyway? Maybe you meant to clean your room, but you kept playing instead. Or maybe you promised to be kind, but then you said something mean.

Everyone struggles with this, even Paul! In Romans 7, he says he wants to do what’s right, but sometimes he still messes up. That’s because sin is like a sneaky voice that tries to pull us the wrong way. But guess what? We’re not alone! Jesus understands, and He gives us the strength to learn and do better. When we follow Him and study to understand His desires for us, we get help to make better choices every day.

Hands

Dear Jesus, sometimes I do things I know I shouldn’t. Thank You for loving me anyway and helping me make better choices. Please guide me to do what is right. Amen.
