Read 1 Corinthians 12:12-31

“A person’s body is one thing, but it has many parts. Yes, there are many parts to a body, but all those parts make only one body. Christ is like that, too.” 1 Corinthians 12:12

Head:

I love 1 Corinthians 12:12-31! Take a minute and read those scriptures again- Paul is reminding us that just like every single part of our body was made and created to work together, we’re all made and created to work together using the gifts that He has given us to share His story and His love!

Have you ever tried tying your shoelaces together and seeing how far you can get? Or covered your eyes with a blindfold and tried to write?

I bet you wouldn’t travel very far or get too many words on the page, because God intended for our bodies to work as he created them. He created people, the body of Christ, to work the same way!

Heart:

Some of you may be good at helping. Some may be good at teaching, or even listening, singing, or praying- and that’s how He created you. Even if your gift feels small to you, it is still super important to Jesus, and he picked it just for you!

Just like all the different body parts, our gifts were intended to work together with others to help lead others to know, love, and follow Jesus! Your gifts are an important part of God’s team!

Hands:

Talk with a grown-up about something you are good at that you can use to help someone you know, then make a plan to use that gift!

Take a minute to think about someone you know who uses their special gifts to help you, and tell them thank you!

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for the gifts You’ve given us. Thank You for the people in our lives who use their gifts to help us. Please help me recognize my gifts and others’ and show me how to use my gifts for Your plan. We love You, Amen.
