Read Revelation 4:1-8

Head

Yesterday, we talked about how the book of Revelation was a special book that God gave to John to share with the world. Today, in chapter 4, we read about a special vision that God gave to John- like a special movie only he could see! In John’s vision, he saw God sitting on the throne surrounded by a rainbow of the most beautiful colors, shining like jewels. Lightning flashed and thunder rolled, and the angels and creatures were surrounding and singing to God on the throne, saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come,” Revelation 4:8.

Heart

In John’s vision, every single creature in Heaven was focused on God. Revelation 4:2 says, “At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it.” That someone was God, and all angels and creatures in Heaven were turned and focused on God and His glory. They were all praising Him. It reminded John, so he could remind us, that God oversees everything-even when things feel scary and overwhelming. He is still on the throne, and He is still in control. He is the King of everything! We can rest easily knowing that and give Him all our glory and praises here on earth.

Hands

How can we remember that God is on the throne and in control this week? Let’s try reading Verse 11 each day, it says, “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” He made all things, He controls all things, He has you! Share how God has shown He’s always there for you with a friend.

Prayer: Dear God, please help me to remember this week that You are on the throne, now and forever. Thank You for being here beside me, even when things get tough. I know You are in control, and I can always trust You no matter what. I love You. Amen.
