Head: Know God's Word | Heart: Love God | Hands: Follow God's Way
Read Proverbs 17:22
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Proverbs 17:22
HEAD
There’s nothing like a good laugh! Have you ever laughed so hard your face hurt? Or nearly fell out of your chair? That’s the kind of cheerful heart God is talking about.
Proverbs 17:22 tells us that joy and laughter are like good medicine—they help us feel better inside and out. But when we’re grumpy, constantly complaining, or always sad, it wears us out. That’s not how God designed us to live.
God designed us to smile, laugh, and enjoy life.
That doesn’t mean we’re always happy, but it does mean we can find joy in Him—even on tough days.
HEART
Do you ever wake up feeling sluggish, sad, or even a little depressed? Maybe something upset you, and it feels like nothing can cheer you up. That’s okay—it happens to all of us.
But here’s the good news: God can fill your heart with joy, even when your day starts off rough. Think about the things that make you smile—a goofy joke, a hug from someone you love, or doing something you enjoy. That kind of joy helps your heart feel lighter, and God loves to see His kids smiling.
HANDS
Try this today:
- Do something you enjoy and invite someone to do it with you.
- Make a “Joy List”—write down 5 things that make you smile.
- Cheer someone up with a silly face, a kind note, or a big ol’ bear hug.
You never know—your joy might be the “medicine” someone else needs today!
