Head

In Proverbs 2, Solomon teaches us how important it is to search for wisdom, like we are searching for treasure! Proverbs 2:4-5 says, “And if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.” Searching for treasure takes work. To find treasure, you would need some sort of tools, to be ready for lots of digging, and need to follow some sort of treasure map, right? Well, gaining wisdom comes with work, too. Wisdom comes from God and is given to those who seek it, but it’s up to us to put in the work to seek it. To become wise and have knowledge, we must read the Bible, pray, listen to God’s words, follow His ways, and make good choices.

Heart

People work hard to get things that they see as treasure. We need to do the same with the wisdom and knowledge that come from God. We don’t have to figure out everything in life on our own- God gives us the wisdom when we ask Him! Studying God’s word helps us know what is good and what is not, and helps us to make wise choices.

Hands

Every day, we are faced with decisions that require us to be wise. Some decisions may be easy, but some will be really hard. But no matter what, each decision requires us to be wise and make the choice that God would be happy with. Try to memorize the following verse this week. Think of it when you are faced with a decision, and let it remind you where your wisdom comes from! “For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth came knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6

Prayer: Thank You, God, for giving me wisdom when I ask You for it! Help me look to Your word and talk to You in prayer so I can make wise choices. Amen.
