Head

What do we know about God? We know He is faithful, loving, and just. The definition of just is "behaving accordingly to what is morally right and fair." Because God cannot be around evil or sin, we see His final plan of removing evil once and for all. In Revelation 16, we read about the seven bowls of wrath that God pours out on those who have turned their backs on God. Did you notice the plagues that God uses? Sores, seas, and rivers became filled with blood, the sun became even hotter and burned everyone, the Antichrist's throne was thrown into darkness, and the Euphrates River dried up so that unbelievers couldn't run from God's wrath. Did you notice some of the same plagues from Exodus? Plagues were used by God to inflict judgment on those whose hearts didn't align with His. Here is one truth that you can always rely on: God is always in control, and He will eliminate evil in the end. Just like He brought the Israelites out of Egypt, He will deliver us from the evil one's hand.

Heart

God loves you. 1 John 4:19 NIV says, "We love because He first loved us." God promises us in His word that He is the one true God. He created us in His image. Meaning we are to reflect His character to others. So, when we read Revelation, we are reminded that even though evil is in the world right now, He will bring it all to an end. God is the ultimate Judge and for those who refuse to repent and surrender to His will, they will meet God for the final judgement of their actions. He will defeat the enemy and bring those of us who obey His commands into His glory in Heaven. Knowing that God has promised to defeat the enemy we can go through our lives with confidence and thanksgiving for His sovereignty and His deliverance.

Hand

Revelation 16:15 says, "Look, I come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed."

So, what is God commanding followers of Jesus to do? Be ready. Stay faithful to keeping close to God through your Bible reading, prayer, repentance, and seeking His will for your life by being obedient to His commands. Always be willing to share the gospel, or the good news of Jesus, with everyone who doesn't know Him. That way, we won't be caught off guard when He returns, and hopefully, more souls will be saved.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we acknowledge you as our one true God. We know that evil is in control, but one day you will eliminate evil once and for all. Lord help us to always be willing to ask forgiveness for our sins and seek Your will for our lives. Help us not be anxious or fearful of those who want to harm us just because we follow You. You have proven that You are a loving and faithful God to those who seek You and Your ways. Help us to stand firm against temptation and rely on You to always protect and provide for us. In Jesus' name, Amen.
