Read 2 Thessalonians 3

Head

In 2 Thessalonians 3, Paul asks the church to pray for them as they continued to spread the message of the Lord. He then goes on to warn them against idleness. Idleness means laziness, not doing anything helpful. Paul tells them to work for what they need and warns them to avoid others who are idle and disruptive.

Heart

This chapter reminds us to pray for those who teach the message of the Lord to others. It reminds us that we should serve our church and our neighbors. This is our work! It is important to follow the example we receive from those working and not to be idle or cause problems.

Hands

As a family, pray for those teaching and serving at our church. Make a list of those you want to remember. Talk about how you can serve at church and in your neighborhood, and encourage each other to be faithful in doing it. You can influence others to serve by setting a good example.

Prayer: Father, thank You for those who came before us and wrote this chapter. Thank You for everyone at our church who leads us to know, love, and follow You. Give us the wisdom to know how You want us to follow and serve You. Amen.
