Read Acts 18

Head
In today’s reading, Paul leaves Athens and goes to Corinth. He met a man named, Aquila, and his wife, Priscilla. He stayed with them and worked with them because they were tentmakers. Paul continued preaching in the synagogue every Sabbath trying to get the Jews and Greeks to believe in Jesus. Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia while Paul was preaching. The people didn’t believe him. He left there and went to Titus Justus’ house. He was a worshipper of God and lived next door to the synagogue. The ruler of the synagogue, Crispus, believed in the Lord, along with his entire house. Many of the other Corinthians believe and are baptized, too. One night Paul has a vision from the Lord. He tells him not to be afraid and to keep on speaking. He tells him not to be silent and that no one will attack or harm him because God is with him. The Lord reminds him that there are many believers in the city. So, Paul stayed a year and six months teaching about God. When Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews attacked Paul and brought him to the tribunal. They said Paul was trying to get people to worship God not as the law instructed. Paul was about to defend himself when Gallio stepped in and told the Jews he would not do anything to Paul. After all this, Paul travels to Syria, Ephesus, Caesarea, Antioch, and all the regions of Galatia and Phrygia to strengthen all the disciples.
Heart
Remember the vision Paul had from the Lord about no harm coming to him? Did the Lord do that? He sure did! Gallio could’ve done all sorts of things to punish Paul, but God didn’t let that happen. His Word is always truth.
Hands
God gives us truths in scripture. If there is something in your life that the enemy has made you believe (I’m not pretty enough, nobody loves me, etc.) discuss those feelings as a family, then look through scripture together to find a truth from God’s Word that says otherwise! God’s Word is always true! Believe what He says about you!

Prayer: God, I am so thankful that You say what you mean! I thank You for Your Word that speaks truth over our lives. Help us to remember those truths when the enemy tries to tell us lies about ourselves. Amen.
