Reading Plan:
Daniel 11

Our Thoughts:
In today's reading, Daniel gets a glimpse of what's to come in the future. This probably isn't great news for Daniel because it involves a lot of death, destruction, and turmoil. What can God actually teach us through this nightmare that Daniel is having?

I want to bring our attention to verse 35. The first thing we can take away from Daniel's vision is that in the midst of his turmoil, God uses devastation to refine and purify Daniel's faith. Refinement can be very uncomfortable and even devastating. But we can be assured that in every uncomfortable moment, we can take refuge in God's sovereignty.

When we are under pressure and go through trials in our life, God uses these moments as an opportunity for us to get rid of the impurities in our lives. This allows us to be strengthened in our faith and to follow God more closely. Every difficult circumstance we face in life is an opportunity to be more devoted and faithful to our God.

More Questions:
• In difficult seasons of your life, what sin is being revealed to you?
• In what ways is God refining your faith through turmoil in your life?

Prayer:
Father, thank you for being the one constant in my life. When all things abandon me, You never leave my side. I will experience trials in my life, Lord, and when I do, I pray that You will show me the impurities in my life so that I can follow you closer and more deeply. My circumstances will never be a match for Your power God. You have always been faithful to me, so I will rest in your love. Amen.
