Our Thoughts:
When you look at our world today, do you see a lot of godly wisdom or does foolishness fill your Facebook feed?
In the first century, Paul saw a lot of foolish behavior too. So much so, that his goal was to help people become aware of their foolish behaviors, submit their foolishness to God, and live a life influenced by godly wisdom. That sounds pretty simple, but there’s a big problem. It is impossible without God’s presence in our lives.
In Proverbs 21, Solomon states, “A person may think their own ways are right, but the LORD weighs the heart.” In other words, all of our outward actions come from an inward motive. Paul speaks to this and says, “out of the abundance of my heart you hear my mouth speak.” Simply put, what is in us will manifest its way out of us.
In 1 Corinthians 2, Paul's tells his audience that he speaks a message of wisdom, but very few people recognize this wisdom so they discard it as crazy talk. Let me ask you this, how could Paul be so certain of his beliefs and what he spoke so boldly about? The answer - he was in sync with the Holy Spirit. Later in the same chapter he explains, “These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.”
It is so important for you and me to gain insight from God’s word and from God’s spirit. We do that by embracing the simple act of daily quiet time with God. By spending time with God, we are able to distinguish between foolishness and godly wisdom.
1 Corinthians 2:14 summarizes this thought perfectly, “The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.” So, let’s live in the wisdom of the Spirit.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your Spirit to permanently dwell within me. Help me to pay attention to your spirit and allow you to shape my worldview and my life. In Jesus name, Amen!
