Read Revelation 17:14

Head

Revelation 17:14, “They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”

In the book of Revelation, God gave John a special vision to show him what will happen someday. In one part of that vision, Revelation 17, John saw an image that showed how some people were choosing to do wrong instead of following God. It seemed like those bad people had all the power, but then John saw Jesus, the Lamb of God. Verse 14 tells us clearly that Jesus will triumph. In fact, this entire chapter shows us that no matter how dark and sometimes scary the world gets, God is always in control, and His victory is certain.

Heart

Sometimes it’s easy to feel like the values the world holds to (popularity, wealth, education, etc.) are stronger than those God has called His followers to. It can seem like bad things are winning when people are not kind to one another or when unfair things happen. But we know that we follow the One, True King. We don’t have to worry or be afraid when life looks out of control, because we know that He has already claimed the victory. Let your heart be comforted knowing that God’s kingdom lasts forever and we belong to Him.

Hands

Take time to encourage someone who’s discouraged this week. Remind them that no matter what happens, God wins in the end. You can write them an encouraging note, or even give them a call, or stop by and visit with them.

Prayer: Dear God, we are so thankful that You are the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Help us to keep our eyes on You, even when the world seems scary. Give us courage to live for Your kingdom every day. We love You! In Jesus’ name, Amen

More

Make or draw a crown (out of paper, poster board, a paper plate, etc.) and write on it: “Jesus, King of Kings.” Place it somewhere in your room or house where you can easily see it. Every time you notice it, remember God is in control and He holds the victory!
